Can Throat Lozenges Be Taken With Doxy-cycl Hycl Tablets?

I am currently taking an antibiotic called doxy-cycl hycl 100 mg tablets for an infection, and was advised tto not eat or drink anything with calcium ,within two hours before or after taking a dose.I have developed a sore throat, and need to know if I can use throat lozenges for relief. I just took my pill and need to relieve my sore throat ,and I don't think I can wait for two hours .Can you help? I didn't see calcium listed as an ingredient in the throat lozenges.

Hello
Thanks for the query to HCM Forum.
Doxycycline forms a chelates when given with calcium or with milk .
This chelates don't absorb in intestine hence doxycyline also don't absorb so it is just wasting of drugs and also calcium .
But as you mentioned that your lozenges don't contain any calcium , you can use it without any side effect .Good luck.
