Can Taking Ritialin And Paxil Cause Kidney Problems?

my special needs son (34) has recently been tested with the 24 hour urine test and has shown high amounts of protein in his urine. He has been on various medications over the years such as ritialin, paxil, respiridol, Dexedrine..can any of these medicaions have caused kidney problems??

Ritalin (methylphenidate) is a central nervous system stimulant. It affects chemicals in the brain and nerves that contribute to hyperactivity and impulse control. It is used for the treatment of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD); treatment of narcolepsy.
This drug does not affect kidneys.
Paxil (paroxetine) is an antidepressant-used to treat depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders.
This drug also does not affect kidneys.
