Can Taking Ibuprophen Be Safe For Pain Below Right Knee After Lumbar Fusion?

Hello,
I am a 36 year old male. I recently had an anterior lumbar fusion done. I was off work for 3 weeks. During that time I worked my way to walking 3-4 miles a day. Now that I am back at work, noth of my knees have started hurting. They both hurt just right below the knee cap. Ice does help, but only temporary. I have been taking ibprophen for the pain. They seem to help, but just a little. Any advice?
