Hi. Can swollen optical nodes be from neck tension? I had neck surgey 15 mths ago. The past 6 months the tension has been worse and so have the lumps. They can also come up just after dying my hair. Any information would be appreciated. I don't see my Dr for another few weeks.

Hi, your condition suggest of lymphadenitis.
These glands gets swollen due to scalp related infections (i.e bacterial or fungal)
Most of the time dandruff(fungal infection) cause this swelling to occur, In your condition use of foreign substance (dye) may also cause reactive lymph gland swelling.
i would suggest
1) To cleanse your scalp with mild antiseptic shampoo at least once in two days.
2) To use anti fungal shampoo if you suspect dandruff.
3) To change to other forms of dying the hair may help you a lot.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
