Can Rods Be Placed In Spine Surgically To Help With Back Pain Caused By Scoliosis?

Hi, I am a 42-year-old woman who was diagnosed with scoliosis as a teenager and wore a brace for a year and a half at that time. As I have been aging, I feel as though my scoliosis is getting worse. My hip seems to jut out more than it used to (it also has somewhat), and I have back pain on and off. Do you know if adults are ever re-braced or if rods placed surgically in the spine would be something that would be considered?
