Can Rabies Be Contracted By Smelling A Dead Animal?
Hi, my question is similar to one posted. I got a very bad smell from above my deck, I got a ladder and smelled the perforations in the soffits and realized something was dead in there, I
had a wildlife company come in and remove a dead raccoon. I don't know how it died, my question is could I have contacted rabies by being that close and smelling this dead animal?

My Answer is NO
As far as the spread of Rabies virus is concern , Virus is present in saliva of animal and it spreads through the contact of saliva .
The air borne infection of rabies is not reported till now .
