Can Prostatitis Cause Fluctuating PSA Levels In Blood?

Hi Doc, I have 2 questions for you and would appreciate your anwers. 1) Is smelly urine from the underwear stain a symptom of prostatitis ? 2) My prostatitis bout come and go, therefore will the PSA level from it go up and down accordingly? Thank you so much for your reply. Regards Ng

Hello,
Prostatic secretions comes via urethra only. Hence foul odour urine can be due to prostatitis.
PSA is a specific for prostate but it can raised in inflammatory conditions like prostatitis.
