Can Perfumed Tampons Cause Any Vaginal Infection?

Put tampon in this morning and when I took it out there was a green dot the size of a pea on it.. My periods ending and blood is now turning brown and about totally over. Want to know what is up with this green spot.. Can perfumed tampons give you an infection. Cause I have never used one before until this period?

Hi,
The chemicals used in the tampon to give it perfume can irritate the soft parts and lead to irritation. Also, there can be a change in the color of the discharge in reaction to the chemical. This could have caused the color on your tampon. If you want to know if there is any infection, please use a sanitary napkin instead of a tampon and observe the discharge. If you have retained the tampon for more than six hours, it is possible for infection to develop; else, infection is uncommon. Hope this helps.
