Can Octagam Cause Slurred Speech?

I take Octagam once a month now, but I ve been taking it since August of 2013. Since then I ve had problems with my speech. At first it was just later in the day, now it s as soon as I get up. I ve had Myasthenia Gravis foe 12 yrs. now, but the slurred speech was all of a sudden. My doctor says to just keep taking the IVIG treatments, but I need to know if this drug is what is causing the problem?

Hi,
Octagam (IV Ig) has got some complications but it can not be told with certainty that your speech defects can be attributed to the treatment.
Slurred speech is one of the manifestations of Myaesthenia, as it started initially during later part of the day and progressed to mornings.
However, octagam can produce thrombotic complications (clots in brain-speech areas) which can cause speech disturbances.
This is best sorted out by your treating doctor. Hope this helped.
