Hello... Doctor.. very good afternoon... My Name is Venkatesh, Age 31 yrs. I have Mitral Valve Prolapse (MVP) problem... Very often I used to get pain in my chest... Actually, I am planning for marriage... Just a general doubt, it is OK, going for marriage...? Is there any serious issue or problem may occur after marriage...? If yes, what precautionary steps I should take..?

Hi,
actually it depends upon the severity of the illness which can be known from echocardiography.
How you asymptomatic except some chest pain, it seems there shouldn't be any problem. However if it's severe then it may create problems in sexual life like decreased stamina. You are able walk flight of stairs or run without excessive fatigue or shortness of breath then most likely it will be uneventful.
however you should inform your partner regarding illness and there may be Need for valve replacement in future.
