Can Lower Back Pain Cause Hiccups In Child?

can hiccups and lower back pain be related in any way? My son is 5 yrs. old, yesterday he had frequent hiccups and what appeared to be a few back spasms or back pain( not ongoing, but about 3 times throughout the day) he was able to move around normally. My son does have Osteogenesis Imperfecta ( a brittle bone disorder) but never had anything like this before.

Hi....the pain may be related to the osteogenesis imperfecta but the hiccups are not related to either pain or the primary bone disorder. The best way to stop hiccups us to startle the kid or put some sugar in the mouth.
Regards - Dr. Sumanth
