Can Knee Replacement Be Done After Getting Off Of Antibiotic?

i have just started a 7 day round of cipro for a uti. i am scheduled for bi lateral knee replacement surgery in 2 wks, 2 days. i will be off of cipro for 9 days before the surgery. will that be enough time to be clear of the cipro. is this ok? i really don t want to cancel the surgery, so many details have been put into place. thank you

You can go ahead with this surgery. I would also want to tell you that matter of concern is not that you are taking antibiotics . Important part is that you had some kind of infection and we have to make sure that this infection should be completely cure of all the bacteria in the body. I would suggest you to get urine culture and ESR, CRP and WBC test to see if there is any kind of infection is there in the body. If all these tests are normal then you should go ahead with knee surgeries.
