Can Knee Aspiration Cause Permanent Damage To The Knee?

Hi , my age is 30 years ( at the time of injury ) and my weight is 88 kg (at the time of injury) and my height is 5'7" . I got knee injury 9 months back.X-ray was done. X-ray found ok. After 5 days of knee injury , doctor did knee aspiration and had casted plaster of paris on my knee and then told me to rest for 45 days . Now i want know without doing any MRI etc . that doctor did knee aspiration . Is it right decision ? Still today I have problem in knee stability when i walk. I have problem when i walk on stairs. I can not run . let me know whether that doctor's decision for knee aspiration was right ? whether knee aspiration can lead to permanent damage to knee ? Knee aspiration is removal of blood or knee fluid or tissue ?

Hello
Thanks for posting
I have gone through your suffering carefully, knee aspiration is a normal routine procedure done when there is collection of fluid,it may be blood following trauma or pus in case of joint infection. It does not lead to nerve damage.
Regarding knee Instability/difficulty in running,it needs physical examination along with MRI test to evaluate health of soft tissues responsible for knee stability.
Hope this helps and I shall be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
