Could hydrochlorothiazide affect a home pregnancy? I am 26years old and have taken to pregnancy test. The first one was positive(before hydrochlorothiazide) and the second one (after the hydrochlorothiazide) was negative. I have gotten blood work and received a 1hcg

Home pregnancy tests work by detecting levels of the hormone beta HCG in your urine.
If those levels are not very high, borderline, it may happen that a test which is positive without hydrochlorothiazide is negative with it.
That is because it is a diuretic, it dilutes your urine, so beta HCG levels may be lower than the threshold detected by the urine test.
