Can I Use Some Anesthesia Just For First Time To Do Intercourse?

Hi doctor, I have been married since 3 months and before that was with my husband since last 1 year and we could not do intercourse. We tried with KY lubricant and everything possible but I get nervous whenever the part of intercourse comes and deny him. My husband is patiently waiting but then I feel guilty about it. I cannot take the pain mentally more than physically. Can I use some anaesthesia just for the first time?

Hello,
Thanks for trusting us your health concern. In the current scenario, I would suggest counselling to make sure that you get over the difficulty permanently. Since it is more of a psychological aspect which you are facing, please deal with it first. You can use local xylocaine application, but that also can make you feel lesser sensation during the act. I would ask you to go for it only if absolutely necessary. Discuss with your husband. Pinpoint your fear and deal with it once for all. Wish you good health.
