Can I Have A Normal Baby After Not Having The Required HCG Levels?

I am pregnant. On friday, day 27 of my 28 day cycle, I had a beta drawn and it was 202. Monday, I had it drawn again and it was 244. Today, I had it drawn again and it was 289. Can I still end up having a healthy baby? The HCG is not doubling like it should.

Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

In the setting of an HCG level that is clearly not rising normally, there are only two possible explanations:
1. An impending miscarriage
2. An ectopic pregnancy

It is EXTREMELY important to sort out whether this is an ectopic pregnancy. You need an ultrasound NOW and an exam to make sure you are not in pain. This can present as a surgical emergency and should be addressed / diagnosed as soon as possible.

I hope that this helps and good luck!
