Can I Get Pregnant Post Unprotected Sex Despite Missing A Birth Control Pill?

Hello I ve been on sronyx birth control for about 6-7months. I always take my pill in time between 12-1am but last night I had unprotected sex and did not take my pill until 10am of that day. It was the first day of the second week in the pack. Is my risk for pregnancy high and is there a window of protection from one pill dosage to the next ?

Hello dear, thanks for posting your query.
The general instructions for a missed pill is to take the pill as soon as you remember and to take the next pill at your usual time if you have just missed one pill and not greater than 48 hours has elapsed after missing the pill and you must finish the packet as usual with the pill free week. This will not cause your contraceptive to fail and is safe. There is no need for emergency contraception as the previous pills protect against pregnancy due to intercourse during missed pill period but you need to consider additional back up contraception methods like condoms for the next 7 days as it may not be protective for next 7 days.
