Can Hysterectomy (including Ovaries) Cause Organ Prolapse, change Of Body Shape And Also Should I Consider HRT?
Hi, I have to make a decision about having a hysterectomy and they are going to even take my ovaries. Does your other organs fall down into the empty space and is there a chance of them coming out of the vagina and I also heard that your body shape changes I am an hour glass shape now is that going to change? and will I have to take hormone pills since my ovaries will be removed? I am so afraid do have this surgery
The organs of the body are in different cavities of the body, the chest cavity, the abdominal area, the pelvis. There are various tissues which hold the different organs in position.
Removal of your uterus and/or ovaries would not cause the other organs in the pelvis or those in the abdomen to prolapse.
Your shape would not change, your weight would be dependent on your lifestyle choices (diet and physical activity).
You should consider discussing your concerns with your doctor.
I hope this helps
