Can Hiatal Hernia Cause Severe Abdominal Cramps And Difficulty In Swallowing Food?

i have trouble swallowing food not all food but has gotten worse. I have a severe cramping feeling in the top of my stomach and usually throw up to relieve the pain and then I am fine. My grandfather, mother and uncle have all had this problem and we just deal daily with it. They were told it was from a hiatal hernia can that be the cause?

Hi,

Yes, hiatal hernia can do that. You need to do upper GIT endoscopy to be sure of the diagnosis as also inflammation in the stomach can do this.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
