Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Fatigue Or Lack Of Sleep Result In Recurring Swollen Lymph Nodes?
Two weeks back I noticed lymph nodes were swolen, one under each arm. I saw a physician and was put on a 10 day round of antibiotic and the nodes became less tender and smaller. Tonight I noticed the node under my right arm is swelling again. Could lack of sleep or overall tiredness contribute to this as I get up several times each night with an 9 month old. I also have a full time job.
Swollen lymph nodes also are known as LYMPHADENOPATHY and it is commonly due to infections in the nearby and distant regions of the body.
As the swellings are not persistent and keep on reducing and recurring you need no to worry as it can just be an infection and nothing else, however it is less likely to be tiredness.
You should consult a Physician and get evaluated for any prevailing or recurring infections after thorough examination and investigations the correct diagnosis and treatment can be done.
In case of infections and inflammation antibiotics like Augmentin or amoxicillin and anti-inflammatory medicines like steroids can be taken.
Do cool compresses over it to reduce inflammation. In case if there is some doubt still left Biopsy of lymph nodes can be done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
