Can Effects Of Exposure To Radiation Result In Prostate Cancer?
Hi I am after some information about the effects of radiation on the human body. My brother as a joke went through a baggage scanner at a hotel in Abu Dabi and now he has had to go to the hospital to have tests for prostate cancer as he has found some lumps. What kind of radiation was he exposed to?

The baggage scanner usually use x rays for scanning and a the new scanner have less x ray radiation. If you brother just went through the scanner for a few seconds it should not cause cancer in him. In case your brother has prostate cancer it could be due to other causes such as genetic reason, a previous prostate disease, elderly age, diet etc.
