Can Dental Treatment Be Undergone During Pregnancy?

Hi Doctor my name is xavier from australia.i had been migrated from india, last month 15th i got married , and today i came to know my wife is pregnant , my wife has some dental problem , her teeth on the top is projecting out side , so last month we had been to dentist , doctor told that , to get it right , clip should be fixed , and 4 tooth should be removed , 2 on top and 2 bottom , due to personal work sedual my wife was unable to start the treatment last month, i would like to know can she under go the dental treatment now ?

Yes- it is safe for your wife to get dental treatment, and she should if she really needs it... But if it is a cosmetic situation and not a major dental problem she should wait until after the baby because it will be difficult for her to eat properly if she has to have four teeth removed.

It is safe, however for her to get local anesthesia, painkillers, certain antibiotics and even xrays (of her teeth only are not a problem for the baby) if it is medically necessary.
