Can Degenerative Disc Disease Cause Fatigue And Other Issues?

Good evening Dr. Grief;\I am a 61 year old, white, female. I have a history of back pain due to degenerative disc disease. I ve had two major surgeries, one in the cervical spine and one in the lumbar area. I also have a cyst in the T8/T9 area that should not be, but is, symptomatic. I m on a pain med treatment, closely followed by my pain specialist. Lately, about 4 weeks now, I guess, I have been experiencing debilitating fatigue along with sleepiness that just knocks me on my but. I get light headed, nauseated, and cannot function normally. For instance, just today I got up at six, got my husband off to work, took a shower, got my grandchild ready, and got ready to go to a doctor appt. with my pain management doctor. I suddenly felt light headed and so tired that I had to lay down. I made sure my granddaughter (who is home from school with a broken leg) was safe with me on my bed and fell asleep and could not manage to get up until 1:30. even then, it was hard to get up and go about my business. I rescheduled my appt. and didn t dare to try driving. I have had some very close calls while driving, nearly wrecking several times. Try as I might, I cannot stay awake when this happens. My meds haven t changed in about a year, so I don t think my meds has anything to do with it. I plan to make an appointment with my family doctor tomorrow.

After going through your query I concluded that you are having symptoms of tiredness and lightheadedness. In my opinion your symptoms are related to vitamin deficiencies and age, These are unlikely to be related to be related to osteoarthritis. You can get your vitamin D3 and vitamin B12. EvionLC, Calcium and Mecobalamine are helpful. You can discuss with your Doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us.
