Can Copper T Coil Move Up From Inserted Location?

Hi, I have the copper coil in at the moment and just had a smear test done yesterday. I regularly check my threads and did it over the weekend and the nurse said she could see them yesterday whilst she carried out my smear test. I went to feel for them today and cannot find them. I cannot feel the coil so know its not coming down the way could this mean it has gone further up?

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, there are chances of copper T getting dislocated. Although, since you say the previous day it was in position, there are less chances of IUCD getting dislocated within a day. If you want you can again recheck the position of the thread. If it's not seen then you can also go ahead with a pelvis scan to know the position of copper T.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
