Can Colonoscopy Cause Vaginal Bleeding?

Due to rectal bleeding, I had my first colonoscopy done yesterday. Today, I seem to have dark red (almost brown) vaginal bleeding. It s comparable to the end of a menstral cycle, which I haven t had for close to a year now. December of last year, my husband and I decided to try for another child. I was on the birth control pill and I haven t had my period since. I have a pap scheduled to get that checked. However, my question is is it possible that having the colonoscopy is the cause for my vaginal bleeding? Or could it be that 10 moths of not having a period is catching up to me at last?

Hello,

I think colonoscopy has nothing to do with vaginal bleeding.

It is just a coincidence that happening now.

It may be your period is coming after such a pause caused by hormonal contraception.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
