Is it possible for a baby to have a hot flash? she woke up screaming and every part of her body but her forehead was boiling but now 5 minutes later she is feeling too cool. I don't have a thermometer to check her temp but her forehead was not hot at all...
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.
By what you quote I feel your kid had a high temperature and is recovering now and it is very usual for the kids to have high temperature and then feeling cool with sweating when the fever breaks. I suggest you buy a thermometer and check her temperature. Forehead will be very hat during fever because that part blood supply is more.
You can treat fever with Paracetamol at 15mg/kg/dose every 4-6th hourly if fever is > 100F. I suggest not using combination medicines for fever as usually most combination medicines combine Paracetamol with NSAIDs and is not advisable. Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health. Dr. Sumanth MBBS., DCH., DNB (Paed).,
