Can Anal Fissure Be Cured By Medicine?
I have annal fissure since one year and my age is 58 years.The main problme i facing is that, some time swelling in fissure and release of some liquid(may be pus). I have counsulted surgon here who has advise operation for cure.Can fissure be treated with some medicine or ointment.I am thankful for yours guidance. from...zahid....pakistan.

Surgical excision is the treatment of choice for anal fissure.
Conservative treatment like stool softeners, antibiotic ointment will provide only symptomatic relief.
However, pain, discharge and swelling will recur every now and then.
A fissure is actually a tract communication with an internal structure.
