Hi & Welcome.
Avoid taking them together. and patients who are on a
Xanax regimen should monitor their consumption very closely.
Xanax (Alprazolam)- a benozodiazepine and alcohol are both
central nervous system depressants.
When taken together it can increase nervous system side effects such as
dizziness,
drowsiness, difficulty concentrating, impairment in thinking and judgment. You should avoid the use of alcohol while being treated with Xanax and avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving, swimming, etc.
However you may be able to safely consume small quantities of alcohol after 24 hours of taking Xanax. However, if this is the case, you should remember that you cannot take any Xanax until the alcohol has completely left their systems.
Remember if you are taking Xanax drug daily or near-daily you should never consume alcoholic beverages.
Hope to have answered your queries.
Wishing you a happy journey.
