Can Acupressure/acupuncture Help To Reduce Back/joint Pain And Varicose Veins?

Hello Doc,

My mother aged 48 yrs is suffering from Back pain, joint pain and varicose veins. MRI reveals slip disk at L3-L4-L5 point. Can accu-pressure or accu-puncture help relieve pain permanently or for a longer period?

Hi,
Acupressure or Acupuncture and help the back and joint pains for a long period but not Varicose veins. But the good news is that Varicose veins dont usually cause much pain or any debilitating symptoms. Varicose veins can be managed with wearing Compression stockings and I also advice my patients Tab Daflon twice a day.
If the varicosities cause severe problems then she can go in for laser surgery which is a minimal access way to cure the Varicose problem.
