Can A Bone In The Middle Of The Chest Of The Baby Cause Any Problem?

Hi, my baby was born a week ago. I've noticed he has a bone on his chest, it maybe just his ribs. It's in the middle if his chest. Today while I was changing him (he had hiccups) I also noticed that his chest sinks in when he has them. Is this something I should be worried about?

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

It's normal for the chest to sink inwards during hicupps.
There is no cause for concern.
If his respiratory rate is normal and there is no hurried breathing, accepting feeds well and sleeps well after feeds then I see no reason for concern.
Do get that bone assessed from your Pediatrician for reassurance.

Take care
