Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My five year old is taking 4.5ml of zantc 75mg/5ml liquid. She started taking it five days ago and now she has a raised up puffy spots that itch from her neck down (looks like mini mosquito bites. That is the only change in anything she has done such as food or soaps. Is it a bad reaction to the Zantac? I am going to stop but should I take her in?
Zantac can cause severe allergic reaction. Stop the drug immediately and take him to a pediatrician, antihistamines may be required to tackle allergic reaction.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
