Can Verapamil And Aspirin Be Taken Together?

I recently started taking Verapamil 120mg SR & also take an enteric coated low dose aspirin. My cardiologist knows this, but didn t caution me about any risk. It also does not mention not to take aspirin in pharmacy warning leaflet. Yet I see some warnings on drug sites online that do suggest it may cause bruising or bleeding. Can you clarify?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic

Both verampil and aspirin potentiate effects of one another and cause increase bleeding tendencies and hypotension.
However, this effect is minor and your doctor have decided that benefits outweigh the risks.
Please continue the medications as prescribed and watch for increased bleeding tendencies like bruising and hypotension like dizziness.

Hope this answers your question
