Can Valium Be The Cause Of Late Period?

Can new medications be the cause of a late period? I am 5 days late, and I've taken one pregnancy test that came out negative. I had oral surgery 2 weeks ago and had to take several new perscriptions including: Valium, hydrocodone, tramadol, phenogan
Could that cause a delay in my period?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
You are 5 days late and got pregnancy test , for good result , you must get it after 7 -8 days late .
As you mentioned taht you are taking valium ( diazepam ) tramadol, phenergan etc , all these medicine are not responsible for delaying for menstruation .
But ,as you mentioned that you got surgery 2 weeks , this may be responsible for delaying for period , so need not to worry at all .
Tension , stress ( of surgery )and few medicine used for surgery may be responsible .
Hope this is useful for you.
Good luck.
