General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi there. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic. Sorry to hear that you are in so much pain. 50 mg Tramadol twice daily is acceptable. But since it is a prescription drug I hope you have been cleared by your physician to take it. It is a habit forming drug so it is advisable to take it cautiously. As you said it has many side effects like drowsiness, anxiety, constipation so it is better to switch over to a different painkiller as soon as the severity of pain decreases. Also don't drink alcohol as long as you are taking Tramadol as it can be life threatening. I hope that answers your question. Please feel free to write if you have any other questions.
