HI DOCTOR MY WIFE WITH IMMENSE HEAD ACH CONSULTED NEUROLOGIST IN INDIA MANGALORE THE MRI FOR BRAIN PLAIN NOTED AS PARTIAL EMPTY SELLA AND TORTOUS BILATERAL OPTIC NERVES WITH PROMINENT BILATERAL MECKEL CAVE. TO RULE OUT BENIGN INTERACRANIAL HYPERTENSION THEY ARE RECOMMENED TO DO LUMBAR PUNCTURE TO ANALYSIS CSF. PLEASE DOCTOR WHAT IS THIS REPORT SAYS AND IS IT SAFE OF DOING LUMBAR PUNCTURE, FOR LUMBAR PUNCTURE IS IT NECESSARY TO TAKE SOME PRECAUTION. PLEASE ADVICE ME,

the MRI suggests that there are some abnormalities and there is a possibility of her having intracranial hypertension, also her empty sella also needs evaluation,
a lumber tap with analysis of csf will help , please do not be apprehensive the procedure is not a very major one and it is quite safe, all precautions that needed to be taken will be taken by the doctors treating and looking after her
