Hello,

Recurring boils in the crotch area commonly occur due to bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and chlamydia trachomatis. Skin irritation may be a cause that allows bacteria to access deeper skin tissues. Changes in your blood glucose level causes the skin to become more susceptible to bacterial and fungal infections.

Wear soft cotton clothes, avoid wearing tight pants and uncomfortable fabric. Take care of your hygiene. Stop using public washrooms and toilets. Since Clindamycin and Cipro works well, you should use it, do not keep changing medicines. Get clinically examined by a dermatologist, get STD tests done to stay on the safer side.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
