Can Metoprolol Be Safely Taken Along With The Following Medicines For Rapid Pulse?

I was taken off metoprolol 50 mg .I am taking amiodarone 200mg warfarin 4mg nifedipine 30 mg for rapid heartbeat. tonight I experienced rapid pulse 103. Is there any interaction if I take the usual dose of metoprolol until I can reach the Dr. tomorrow.

Hi,

There is some caution needed in using metoprolol with amiodarone as it can sometimes cause too much heart slowing. However ots not strictly prohibited to use both and they can be used with caution.

But more important is such medication should not be used without doctors advice. The heart rate of 103 is not a great concern, up to 100 is counted normal, so you do need to be worried a lot about it.

Just relax .I don't thing you need to take any medicine for rate of 103.
