My 95 year old father fall while getting up. His left leg gave out and he fell and banged his far head above his left eye. He does not want to go to the ER. I placed and gel pack from the freezer on his injury wrapped with a belt & compress the injury. He is now (3 hour after injury occurred) want medication for the pain. THANKS FOR ASKING HCM
Looking at age of your father ibuprofen is not the safe choice for pain and swelling. You can give him paracetamol 650mg to relieve pain. keep a check on his parameter such as CBC, SR. creatinine, BSF and post lunch, along with vitals pulse rate, BP, Oxygen saturation. If his sr. creatinine is within normal range you can give him ibuprofen as and when required not on daily basis. continue compress and apply thrombophoobe ointment for any bruising. Please see a family physician if pain not subsided within a week.
Thanks.
