Can I Take Robitussin DM For The Treatment Of Cough And Breathing Difficulty?

I am having coughing fits, cannot control or breathe while they happen. This has been happening for couple of weeks. I m stuffed up and have a lot of phlem. I am taking zyrtec but think I need something else. Can I take Robitussin DM or something like that with zyrtec?
