Can I still drink alcohol with a heart murmur ?

A few weeks ago my GP informed me that I had a slight heart murmur, and suggested I get a heart x-ray done to check that everything s alright, but it s not urgent. Ever since then I ve regularly felt dull twinges across my chest, but am trying not to worry because I tend to overreact to little things like this, so it s probably normal and I m just more aware of it now. There is no history of heart problems in my family. This weekend I m going to a music festival (my first as a legal adult), and I m just wondering if drinking alcohol will be bad for my heart? EDIT: Medication-wise, I m on the contraceptive pill. But nothing else.

When I was born I had a heart murmur. The doctors say that they havent been able to hear it recently, but that it could still be there. Because of this my mom tells me that I shouldnt have energy drinks. Why can t I have them ? What do they do?

It s a little complex , cough for 7 months , whooping cough diagnosed, blocked sinuses , chest infection followed, still coughing ...been to docs 2 days ago , more tests to follow to determine if reaction from whooping cough or something else ...and then doc says I also have heart murmur , now worried. I am 45 year old , have cycled all my life, dead on right weight, never smoked. Perhaps a little sleep deprived , stressed and have couple more drinks than ideal....and now quite worried. DOc to listen to heart in 1 month but say not too worried if I can still red up steep hills...which I can, but I also have an awareness of my chest, can feel it, not sure if cough and lung related or heart. Hello Doctor,
I have a query. Me and my GF are planning to have unprotected sex around Sept 2nd week. Today is the first day of her periods and she wants to take the Althea oral contraceptive pills today onwards. Would it be safe for us to indulge in unprotected sex by say around Sept 7th. Thanks.

I am currently on my first month of lutera birth control pills, and my partner and I had unprotected sex twice in a week on my third week of the pack. I am worried that I did not give my body sufficient time to adapt to the birth control hormones. Also, another factor that adds to my worry is that i am also taking 5 hydroxytryptophan for anxiety issues. I am not sure whether or not these could have had adverse effects on the pill or not. I took Emergency contraceptive twice , and now I am clueless as to what to expect. I am currently on my forth placebo pill and still no period. Is pregnancy an issue here?.

It is said that when first taking ginet-84 contraceptive pill you should wait two week before fully protected, and one week if you have missed a pill. So once you have taken the sugar pills (to induce your period) are you fully protected once it s stopped or do you have to wait a week like you ve missed a pill?
