Can I Start Ketogenic Diet Gradually When Unable To Control Seizures With Medicines?

my husband has epilepsy and his neurologist has not been able to control his seizures w/ meds. i have asked her repeatedly about the ketogenic diet but she said its for children and you have to fast before you start. Can I just put him on it gradually??

It is unfortunate that your husband's seizures are not adequately controlled.

I agree with your husband's neurologist that ketogenic diet may not help him, as it is mainly effective in children.

I would require information on his MRI brain-epilepsy protocol, EEG, and his current medication list, in order to advise further.
