Can I Get Infected With HIV Through Anal Sex?

Dear Sir,

I'm 26 years old, Last week i had a homo sex wit a 40 yr old man. During the act he tried to insert his penis into my anal but could not penetrate and he discharged the sperm out. He also once put his mouth to my penis and bit the penis twice lightly. My worry is there any chance of me getting infected to HIV or STD if he is a HIV positive ??

Hello, Thnx to contact us. If I am your treating doctor I would like to advice you that there theoretically chance of getting HIV, as mucosa contact had occurred. I advice you to check the status of your partner if possible. If its status is reactive I advice you to go for Post Exposure Treatment. Get tested after 28 days of PEP for P24 antigen testing. It will give you early guide for the HIV. If you have anything else to ask please contact me. Thanx. Dr. Arun Tank; Infectious Disease Specialist
