i had m.r.i and this was the findings FINDINGS: Scattered small nonspecific foci of increased FLAIR signal is seen with the largest in the right frontal subcortical white matter measuring 0.4 x 0.2 cm on 6-32 and the largest in the left frontal subcortical white matter measuring 0.3 x 0.3 cm on 6-25. Minimal foci of gliosis are identified in the periventricular regions. Scattered nonenhancing nonspecific foci of increased FLAIR signal are seen in the right frontal and left frontal subcortical white matter regions that represent a nonspecific demyelinating process. Premature small vessel ischemic changes as well as other etiologies are differential serrations.
Certain areas of the brain (white matter / below the surface) have been afected by the disease process. It may be Degenerative disease or reduced blood supply from vascular disease; rarely infection or injury and so on... The findings have to be correlated with the clinical picture, for proper interpretation. The examining doctor may suggest based on his assessment of the situation.
