Can Gabapentin And Xanax Be Taken Together?

I just started taking gabapentin 300 mg 3 times a day. Can I still take Xanax..5MG AT NIGHT TO DLEEP. I HAVE TAKEN Z XANAX FOR YRS FOR SNIECTY AND TO BE ABLE TO SLEEP Can a patient take gabapentin 300 mg 3xday and take Xanax for aniexty and sleep at night? I have just started the gabapentin due to head nerve pain

i can understand your concern. Using xanax along with gabapentin can lead to increased drowsiness and feeling light headed, and feeling difficulty in concentration.
if you have already started both medications and have been noticing any of the above mentioned side effects consult your doctor for dose adjustment.

Since you have been taking xanax for a long time, you must have developed dependence. It should not be stopped immediately but it can be tapered to 0.25 initially for a month and then stopped if required.

dosage of the medication vary from patient to patient. We do prescribe both gabapentin and xanax if required. You can start xanax but be careful in the morning by avoiding driving or any work that need you to concentrate and can be dangerous.
