Can Escitalopram Be Taken For Depression?

Hello, my Mum was prescribed IC Escitalopram 10 mg. Is this for depression? My Mum is 90 and suffers from congestive heart failure and pulmonary fibrosis. She often feels afraid so I was wondering if this med will help calm her. Thank you for your response.

I really appreciate your concern, even if she is having congestive heart failure, lung fibrosis still she can be given medicine for depression if it is being suggested by psychiatrist (This is the condition ) and this medicine will helps her for sure hope this information helps.
