Hi I am 23 years old, unmarried and sexually inactive. I have had pcos since the past few years. My cycle is of 20 days and since the past year I am having very light periods as compared to previous periods. I got hair growth on my upper lip area, chin and neck. I also have fibrocystic breast condition. And darkening of skin around the back and sides of my neck. I have missed my periods since April this year and after some research on the internet I found Vitex chasteberry to be an effective herbal medicine for pcos. I started taking Vitex chasteberry at a low dose of 400 mg daily from 1st June amidst bad pain in the lower pelvic area. By 10th June the pain was gone and my irritability and anxiety mellowed. On 19th June I did a PCOS hormonal assay and all my hormonal levels LH FSH testosterone, prolactin were in the normal range and sugar fasting was 99 and insulin was 26.27. I had also been taking bitter melon and blackberry juice for a month suspecting high blood sugar for the darkened skin in the neck. However even though I was feeling a lot better on the herb I did not get a period after taking it for a month so I stopped the vitex chasteberry for sometime and instead started taking deviry 10 mg after ten days of stopping the vitex chasteberry. My fibrocystic breast condition has again aggravated and pain in the lower pelvic area has started as well as hairloss. Will taking deviry 10 mg for 10 days induce my period? And besides exercise which I am doing now is there any cure for insulin resistance. I am trying to lose weight and have successfully shed about 9 kgs in the past 6 months.
