Hi,

Artane alters unusual nerve impulses and relaxes stiff muscles. Artane is used to treat the stiffness, tremors, spasms, and poor muscle control of Parkinson's disease. It is also used to treat and prevent the same muscular conditions when they are caused by certain drugs.

Detrol (Tolterodine) reduces spasms of the bladder muscles. This drug is used to treat overactive bladder with symptoms of urinary frequency, urgency, and incontinence. Using Artane (Trihexyphenidyl) together with Detrol(tolterodine) may increase side effects such as drowsiness, blurred vision, dry mouth, heat intolerance, flushing, decreased sweating, difficulty urinating, abdominal cramping, constipation, irregular heartbeat, confusion, and memory problems.

For this reason, I suggest to consult your mother's treating doctor and discuss carefully with him about the risks and benefits of the combination, Artane and Detrol than to decide the best therapy for your mother in her actual circumstances.

Hope I have answered your query.
