Can Crocin Suspension Be Given To Infants For Treating Cold And Sore Throat?

Hi my baby is 2 months old and has a runny nose probably sore throat too. He keeps crying and is very irritable. Paediatrician had adviced crocin suspension when the baby had fever. Can I also give him crocin for cold and soar throat. The dosage as for fever was 0.6ml every 6 hours. Please guide

Thanks for your question on HCM

I do understand your pain and discomforts

As per your history is concerned you can give Cronin if there is fever only. As per your description he needs antihistamine drops for nasal discharge [chlorphenamine male ate 1 mg, phenylephrine hydro chloride 2.5 mg, paracetamol 125 mg/1 ml.]as per his age he will need [0.2 ml]only three times per day.

Secondly for sore throat you can give [amoxicillin + clavulanic acid]dry syrup three times per day. Dose will be 20 mg per kg body weight per day which you have to give in three divided doses.



Do a physical examination by your doctor and discuss about medications.
