Can Costochondritis Cause Symptoms Of Missed Heart Beat, Intermittent Chest Pain Having Blood And Stress Test Normal?
I believe I may have costochondritis. I haven't been diagnosed by my MD, but I have had intermittent chest pain off and on for months now and he is at a loss as to what it might be. Numerous x-rays, blood tests and even a stress test have ruled out my heart as the problem. (note: I did have a stent put in a couple of years ago due to an 80% blockage of LAD artery) Lately I am also experiencing feelings like a skipped or missed heart beat, usually upon mild exertion. Can costochondritis make you feel like this?
The two are not related… Missed beats are common and often may be normal… Anxiety is likely to be contributing if not causative…
Your symptoms do not suggest Coronary Artery Disease (CAD). However any pain at this setting and age should be investigated as heart pain – thallium Treadmill Exercise Electrocardiogram (TMT) is a better way to exclude….if normal, nothing to do – except to repeat annually. If in doubt, further work up is done..
Good luck Take care Wishing all well God bless
