doctor i was prescribed calvepen 666mg 104 with flucillin 500grams.
for a insect bite or thorn at the tip of my toe. on the second day i got a patch that looked like execema and it then spread to a large raised patch. dr took me off frist medicine c 666. and replaced it with other medicines namelydeltacortril 5mg, daacin c 15 and telfast 120mg fc tabs pco . i am on second day of new medicines. my skin on my leg above my knee towards the pelvis is still raised and quite a large patch.
i am wondering how long it will take to clear up and if is side effect of calvepen 666. i am trying to keep my leg elevated
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.
As per your complain it seems that the symptoms of developing large raised patchis nothing but rashes that has occurred secondary to allergic reaction with the antibiotics Calvepen and flucillin as rashes are a common side effect of it.. The medication advised to you are a combination of another antibiotic Dalacin C that is antibiotic Clindamycin, telfast that is an anti allergic and detlacortil that is a steroid.. I would suggest you to continue the same and it can take from 4 to 5 days to about a week for the rash and symptoms to subside.. Along with taking medicine you can also apply a steroid based cream over the rash for reducing inflammation.. Do cool compresses.. You can also apply Calamine lotion for soothing the skin..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
